Welcome to the Virtual Magic Sheet Open project. This guide provides a quick overview of the current preview release. Note that the editing features described here are not yet available on mobile devices. The Virtual Magic Sheet is composed of two parts: an engine application that monitors the lighting control network, and a viewer which runs in a web browser, receiving data from the engine. You only need to install the engine, which serves the viewer app to a web broswer.ĭownload the VMS Engine app from. You may see security warnings, which you will need to dismiss. You should only need to do that the first time you launch the VMS Engine. The VMS Engine will then open a VMS Viewer in your web browser, and your interaction with VMS will happen there. The browser must have JavaScript enabled. If the engine does not open a viewer, enter this address in your browser to load the viewer. The VMS Engine can support multiple simultaneous viewers on the same network, and its window shows the address to use from a different computer. Read the Files section carefully to understand the implications of multiple users sharing the same layout file. The viewer has a black background where you can place channel symbols, labels, and arrows. To see a sample, right-click (control-click on a Mac) on the empty magic sheet and choose Load Demo. To delete the demo objects and create a layout of your own, right-click on an empty part of the magic sheet and choose Clear All. In this preview version of Virtual Magic Sheet there are six types of graphic objects. The object types and their editable properties are: Right-click on the sheet and select Add Objects > and then an object type. Channel - Displays the intensity of a control channel as a numeric percentage and a bar graph.Text - Properties: text, size, color, underline, rotation.Properties: channel number, color, personality, rotation, scale, patch.
